Pre-Operative Instructions
Thank you for choosing St. Joseph’s Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic for your surgical needs.
Please note the following pre operative instructions:
- No aspirin or aspirin-containing products (Anacin®, Ibuprofen, Bayer®, Advil® and Motrin®) or Vitamin E for two weeks prior and two weeks after your surgery. Tylenol® is okay
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before surgery. (Unless a nursing child then 6 to 8 hours prior.)
- If preoperative testing is needed please have this completed three days before surgery. We recommend you contact your primary care physician or KMC Satellite Lab at the Interlake Building, 700 Ironwood Drive (left end of the building – bottom floor). No appointment needed – between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- You will not be able to drive after your surgery, please arrange for transportation.
- The surgery center will call you the day before your surgery with check-in time.
- Your insurance company will be contacted and the appropriate authorization obtained.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call. We also have an answering service for after hours, they will page the physician for you.
